I found this fascinating Jacquard cloth from an Italian fabric company.  A valance made of silky sheen Jacquard fabric was well suited to the home owner, a young newlywed couple.

Two window treatments -Curtain & Room-darkening Shade. This is a media room and requires room-darkening during the day. A room-darkening blind was installed behind the curtain.  The entire concept of this house is modern & minimal. In keeping with the concept, the curtain track was recessed in the ceiling, not exposed.
